AI Briefings (Preview)

AI-generated governance briefings that summarize this week's violations, trends, and recommended actions, personalized per user based on role, governance goals, and prior interactions.

Published For M365 Product Owner, Head of IT, CISO

AI Briefings are Rencore's agentic-AI feature that produces personalized governance summaries for each user. Instead of sifting through dashboards and reports, administrators receive an AI-generated briefing each cycle that highlights the most important changes since last time, suggests prioritized actions, and adapts to the user's stated governance goals. Currently in preview as part of the agentic AI roadmap.

What “agentic AI” means here

Rencore’s agentic AI features use LLMs to summarize, prioritize, and recommend, not to replace governance decisions. The model is the analyst that reads the dashboards, not the engine that runs them. Detection still happens in the deterministic scan pipeline; the AI layer makes governance findings easier to consume.

The AI Briefings feature is the first applied surface of this. It is currently in preview as the team validates the prompt engineering, personalization model, and integration with stated user goals.

How personalization works

Each user can set governance goals, “reduce oversharing in EMEA”, “prepare for EU AI Act audit”, “improve Copilot license ROI”. The agent uses the goals to weight findings in subsequent briefings. A finding tied to a stated goal gets surfaced; an unrelated finding is held back.

User interaction history also feeds the personalization. Findings the user previously acted on are de-prioritized (handled); findings the user previously dismissed are surfaced less aggressively. The result is briefings that get smarter about each user’s attention patterns over time.

Limitations during preview

The feature is in preview because LLM-generated summaries can be confidently wrong about specifics. The platform tags every AI-generated statement with the underlying policy or report it references, so users can verify before acting. As the prompt engineering matures, the verification overhead should drop, but for now, treat the briefing as a high-quality first draft, not a final source of truth.

Frequently asked questions

What is Rencore governance?
Rencore governance is a SaaS platform that continuously monitors your Microsoft 365 tenant for policy violations, configuration drift, and security risks across SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI Agents. It automates compliance evidence collection, surfaces oversharing and sprawl, and provides actionable remediation workflows, reducing manual audit effort by up to 80%.
Does Rencore support governance for AI tools beyond Microsoft Copilot?
Yes. Rencore connects to Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, and other AI platforms. Each connector provides tailored policies for cost management, security, adoption tracking, and access control, giving IT a unified governance view across all AI tools the organization uses.
What is Copilot governance?
Copilot governance is the practice of controlling what data Microsoft 365 Copilot can access and surface to users. Since Copilot inherits the permissions of the user who invokes it, overshared content in SharePoint and OneDrive becomes accessible through natural-language queries. Rencore identifies these oversharing risks before Copilot rollout and continuously monitors for new exposure after deployment.
